Eureka Productions wins awards, selected for Manhattan Film Festival
Truckee-based video production company, Eureka Productions, announced today that its video documentary of the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy has been selected for a showing at the 2014 Manhattan Film Festival (http://manhattanff.com/).
“Return to the Past: The Future of Staten Island After Sandy” was filmed after Hurricane Sandy and covers historic hurricanes at Staten Island and how failed infrastructure contributed to increased damage to homes and neighborhoods.
The Manhattan Film Festival was recently named among “The Coolest Film Festivals in the World: 2013″ to go along with being named “25 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee: 2012” by MovieMaker Magazine.+
Every 2014 screening will be held at the Quad Cinema in New York. The grand prize includes a one week commercial run with publicity and distribution through QUADflix SELECT.
Since its inception, the film festival has launched programs aimed to help filmmakers succeed. One of these is the Filmmaker Revenue Sharing Program which has generated thousands of dollars for independent filmmakers.+
The festival is covered by local, national,and international media including television, newspaper, magazine, and web outlets. In 2013 the festival was covered by the New York Times, Good Morning America, Good Day New York and many more.
The video also received a gold award at this year’s WorldFest Houston International Film festival, joining Eureka Productions’ three other titles, which won second and third-place awards at WorldFest.+
